MIMIKRIJA/MIMICRY 3D Fashion Exhibition

MIMIKRIJA

Skrivanje. Prikrivanje. Stapljanje. Človeka z naravo in človeka z nepoznanim, hladnim okoljem.

Otvoritev bo potekala v ponedeljek 4.10.2010 v Centu Urbane Kulture – KINO ŠIŠKA

z začetkom ob 19.00.

Upam, da se vidimo!

MIMICRY
Concealing. Hiding. Blending. Man with nature and man in an unfamiliar, cold surrounding. The world’s first and biggest exhibition of 3D fashion photography sets out to unveil the contrast between nature and urban spaces through visual and metaphorical blending of man with his surroundings. Seemingly relaxed in nature, yet covertly aggressive in the concrete jungle. Man’s vulnerability is clearly felt in both – a characteristic we increasingly try to conceal through apparent control of the world around us. Although, something else emerges from the models’ poses, styling and make-up. A presence of a dangerous defensive mechanism, a reccuring motif that runs from nature to concrete and back. Is it really there or is that only – mimicry?

The photographs were shot on 7 different locations in London and Slovenia. They are a personal reflection, the models and the concepts both represent the author himself: from living harmoniously with nature to taking on the aggressive game of the urban jungle. Through Matjaž’s photographs the models become both connections and interpreters of the differences between the two surroundings.

MIMICRY is the world’s first and biggest exhibition of 3D fashion photography. A smaller version was already displayed in three London venues, leaving a great impression on numerous fashion and photography experts as well as the general public. The expanded exhibition features 14 large, 150x100cm photographs, making it a truly unique story and a harbinger of the coming 3D times. In photography as well.
